The Hamic Wedding

Sarah Dugal + Stephen Hamic

September 25, 2021

Sarah and Stephen’s wedding day was simply beautiful. It was full of the sweetest moments! Everyone was calm and thoroughly enjoyed the entire day and that’s all I pray for when it comes to wedding days!

Sarah reached out to me a few months before her wedding because she was feeling uneasy about a few things. She felt she needed someone reliable to help coordinate the day-of her wedding and help with a few other last-minute details. She chose to trust me despite the fact that I was going to be in Montana (most likely without cell service) just a week and a half before her big day. We bonded over the fact that she had been to Glacier National Park and that was where I was going! It was a match made in heaven.

Here is what Sarah said was different from what she expected when she first booked with Lovely Events and Planning:

“The personal aspect. The part where Annelise took the time and effort to gain a relationship with me and really get to build a rapport with me to understand the values and meaning behind the things that meant the most to me to have on the day of the wedding.”

I really do enjoy getting to know my couples as much as possible. This also helps me do my job as their wedding planner better because I know what is important to them! I always get sad when wedding days are over because I don’t get to talk with them as much. I’m not just saying this because it’s my job. I tell my closest friends that I think everyone needs a day-of coordinator (not a family member or friend even though they might feel like a good friend by the end of it) to help make sure the day goes smoothly.
Here is what Sarah had to say about working with Lovely Events and Planning:

“Annelise and her team took my stressors away, with the planning process and the month and day of the wedding from the minute I booked with her. Annelise not only made everything relaxing and smooth but provided such a fun time for my husband and I, our bridal party, our families, and our guests. I truly have zero complaints.”

If you hire a professional, you should have very few worries in the weeks leading up to your wedding day. You will be able to focus on the fun stuff instead. By the time I left for Montana, all of Sarah’s stuff was taken care of. Here is what Sarah’s mom said about her experience with us:

“The wedding went off flawlessly. All details were planned for and attended to. Annie and her team took care of all the details, which allows us to attend to our guests and fully enjoy the wedding!”

I am so grateful that she chose me because her wedding day was so sweet.. literally! Sarah bakes cookies for Fais Dough Dough! They are delicious! I’m not supposed to eat dairy, but I couldn't stop myself from taking a little bite. I still think about that cookie to this day! I wish I could eat 100 more. She chose to bake a bunch of cookies to serve as favors to her guests. Be sure to check her out and give her a follow. These cookies could be just what you are looking for for the next party or event that you host!

Another sweet part of the day was that they chose to have an ice cream bar instead of a groom’s cake. I quite often push for something other than cake on the groom’s table since your guests will have access to the wedding cake. I didn’t even have to convince Sarah of this. The ice cream bar had a bunch of toppings to choose from— even down to M&Ms with the couple’s faces and names on them! It was a huge hit! Brides— consider doing something fun like this to represent your groom’s favorite treat!

All in all, getting Sarah and Stephen married left me with lots of joy. I am grateful to have played a small part in the beginning of their love story. Wishing these two many years of sweetness together!

I will leave you with Sarah’s advice for future brides on their wedding day:

“I gave my friend, who was not in the wedding party but who I knew would be at the wedding and at the reception until the very end, my cell phone to take as many candid photos/videos as possible. She understood the assignment!! This was the coolest thing to look back on while we were on our honeymoon.”

I think this is a great idea. It is so much fun to look back on the next day or week after your wedding. Plus it will hold you over while you wait for your professional pictures!
