Wedding Sign-In Options

When it comes to a wedding, one of the first things that guests will see is a welcome sign or table along with a place to sign their name and leave a sweet message for the couple. Actually, I have yet to encounter a wedding without something for the guests to sign in on. Not only is it a tradition for guests to leave well wishes for the couple as they embark on their life together, but I think that couples enjoy looking back at who spent the day celebrating with them!

Traditionally, guests have signed a guest book designated to hold signatures. This option is perfectly fine and will suffice for any wedding. Lately, though, I have seen lots of different, fun, and creative ideas when it comes to what guests sign in on. Couples are moving toward something that they can use or put on display in their home even after their wedding day is over. Many couples have gotten really creative with what they have their guests sign-in on. For those that are looking for something in lieu of a guest book, I have gathered several ideas that serve as alternates to the traditional guest book below.

  • Quilt squares to have sewn into a quilt after the wedding

  • Bench to be used on the your patio

  • Stroke of paint on a canvas (pictured below)

  • Jenga blocks

  • Polaroids of guests

  • Painted portrait of the venue, the couple, or any other special image

  • Globe

  • Large wooden letter of the couple’s newly shared last name

  • Piece of wood with couple’s last name and wedding date

  • Highlight favorite bible verse + sign name

  • Message in a bottle- with well wishes, date night ideas, bucket list items, or advice

  • Sign a heart and drop it in the frame (pictured below)

  • Framed picture of the couple (matte around image gets signed)

  • Book of engagement pictures

  • Platter or serving dish

If you want to see images of some of the ideas, you can visit our Pinterest board here! It’s fun to see some of these put into action.

As you can see, there are so many fun ideas out there for guests to leave their mark. It shows that nothing is off limits when it comes to your guest sign in. My advice is to pick something that brings you joy + something that you will cherish for years to come! I hope this sparks a little inspiration for you if you are looking to have something other than a traditional guest book.. get creative with it!
